CERAFLUX GR-510

Granulated Medium To Low Temperature Exothermic Drossing Flux For Aluminium And Aluminium Alloys

Product

CERAFLUX GR-510 is a flux with a very low reacting temperature for use on all sodium tolerant Aluminium Alloys.

CERAFLUX GR-510 is most suited for use in the central melting furnaces and transport ladles and will aid in keeping furnace walls free of corundum build-up.

Purpose

CERAFLUX GR-510 can be used on medium to low metal temperatures in sand, die and high pressure die casting foundries. It produces dry ash-like dross that is easily separated from the molten metal. Skimming is thus facilitated and metal loss due to aluminium entrapment in the dross is reduced.

CERAFLUX GR-510 is scattered on the surface of the metal at a rate of 0.05 - 0.15% of the metal weight. The flux is then rabbled gently into the melt until the exothermic reaction develops. The powdery dross is either pushed aside or preferably removed before taking the ladles of metal for die casting.

Application

CERAFLUX GR-510 is recommended for melting and covering operation. Exo-thermic property of the product influences faster melting of aluminium. CERAFLUX GR-510 forms a layer over molten aluminium which acts as a barrier between molten aluminium and atmosphere and thus prevents the oxidation of molten aluminium.

Application Temperature: 690-720°C

Benefits

CERAFLUX GR-510 specially developed to be environmentally friendly. It is dust free in use and emits low fume during application.

  • Granulated fluxes can be used at reduced application rates compared to powder fluxes.
  • Granular ensuring uniform chemical properties throughout flux.
  • 2-4 mm designed for flux injection machine through lance.

Standard Packing : 25 kg polyethylene lined paper sacks.

Precaution : Flux Is Hygroscopic In Nature So Store It In Dry Atmosphere.
